 I purchased Life Insurance from this company through an agent. The premiums seemed to be pretty high but I thought I was getting good coverage. I wrote a check to cover the first month premium and was told that my monthly premiums would automatically be deducted from my same checking account I wrote the first check on. This was fine with me. Approximately a month later I was told by my agent that I was behind in my second payment even though it was just the 3rd of December. I was puzzled because I knew I had money in my bank account .

I checked my bank account and found out that the first month premium's chec k was promptly cashed by Senior Life. No other drafts was ever attempted at this time of December 5. I started to become suspicious at this point because I never received a policy in the mail, only a letter demanding I mail mymonthly premium in. 

My agent suggested I give the company a call which I did. I spoke to someone in customer service and was told that a policy was mailed to me on November 12, 2013which  I never received. She also told me a payment had posted on my account for the month of December. She told me she would reissue the policy. I asked if it could be emailed or faxed, she said they do not email nor fax any information to cusotmers.

A few days later I received another letter from Company requesting I mail my premium into the company for the month of December !!! I then checked with my bank and no draft or monies for the insurance premium was taken out of my account except for the initial check that was cashed in November.

I called Senior Life again and got a different customer rep named Michelle, she told me that my account was paid for November and December and to just disregard the notices I received. I informed her that i was starting to feel uncomfortable with this company and if I did not receive my policy in the mail and this payment issue was not cleared up I would cancel my insurance and demand any monies back. She then informed it was too late to get back any monies because I only had 20 days to look over the policy before it went into full effect !!! I then explained to her thre was no way of me knowing this since I never received a policy. I asked her if the policy was sent certified and or trackable, She claimed it was but when I aske her for confirmation she said I would have to go through a manager.

I do not understand their motive what their motive could possibly be but I am now convinced it cannot possibly be good. I contacted my bank and they have no recorddenying a payment for my life insurance to this company . They cannot put a Stop on a payment that has not been submitted so I must check my account every day. I am writing to company to cancel my policy effective immediately. I feel sorry for the people that have policies with this company and can only imagine what may happen when it is time for a policy to be paid out to beneficiaries.Eithr this company is grossly inept or they are purposely scamming the customers.

Last word of advice, save your money and deal with reputable insurance companies .

 Thank you Agent-0 for taking the time to respond to my issues/complaint with your employer Senior Life Insurance Company. Even though you are personally not familiar with particular case you still meade mention of some very valid points.

You were correct in stating that : "1)  As a way to protect the client, as is standard in the industry, we do encourage clients to be on automatic monthly draft.  The client choses the date of the draft.  In your situation, I'd speak to a policy holder supervisor/manager and verify that your policy is processed/inputting according to your application.  We care about our policy holders."

I was under the impression I signed up for the automatic monthly draft. I called customer service at the request of my agent after he was notified that "the funds were unavailbe" which was/is not true. Customer never ever suggested or implied it may have been a mixup and I should contact a policy holder Supervisor/Manager.

You say "We care about our policy holders", Maybe you as an agent does but it is quite evident to me that customer service does not by their non chalant attitide.

You also mentioned "Policies are postage mailed by regular mail.  From the day the first premium payment is received from the client, policies are received at the client's address between 7-10 business days.  We will gladly mail a duplicate policy to you asap.  Please call our office and verify that we have your correct address."

I did not receive my policy in a timely manner- no shady intent on that ground alone but when I received yet another bill/invoice for a premium that I was told had been paid even though when I checked with my bank they denied paying and or returning any draft from this company other than the initial check I wrote.

Same customer cervice rep lied and told me that both ploicies were sent out "certified" and of course she could offer no proof of this whasover. This is where the mistrust comes in. When a representative tells a blatant easily confirmed lie then all deals are off.

I would be turning over in my grave knowing that my family may have to go thru a whole lot of beauracracy to claim my insurance. It would have to be over my dead body.....

 There may be very sincere hardworking agents like yourself and the agent who sold me the policy but their hands are tied administratively and THAT is where the problems will begin.

I felt the need to clarify a few of your comments in an effort to help you out.  Although, I have no personal knowledge of your case, I am a licensed agent with Senior Life Insurance Company for a good while now.

1)  As a way to protect the client, as is standard in the industry, we do encourage clients to be on automatic monthly draft.  The client choses the date of the draft.  In your situation, I'd speak to a policy holder supervisor/manager and verify that your policy is processed/inputting according to your application.  We care about our policy holders.

2)  Policies are postage mailed by regular mail.  From the day the first premium payment is received from the client, policies are received at the client's address between 7-10 business days.  We will gladly mail a duplicate policy to you asap.  Please call our office and verify that we have your correct address.

3)  State law guarantees a free look period for all insurance companies on all insurance policies.  Speak to a supervisor/manager and explain the situation.  We are a company that cares about our policy holders.
