    Arizona Attorney General Files Consumer Fraud Lawsuit

    The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the governments allegations, which have not yet been proven.

    On October 2, 2019, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced his office filed a Consumer Fraud lawsuit against Choice Home Warranty for allegedly making false promises to consumers who purchased a home warranty policy. The lawsuit alleges Choice Home Warranty collected millions from Arizona consumers, but used contract exclusions, payment caps, and bad-faith refusals to avoid paying for repairs. 

    The State's lawsuit seeks consumer restitution, up to $10,000 in civil penalties for each violation of the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act, injunctive relief, and attorney's fees and costs.

Followed up with at 5 written request on the company's website with no response. Called several times with the only option a return call. No return call ever received.

    I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and concern regarding an incident that occurred earlier today involving one of your employees. I regret to inform you that the behavior exhibited by your representative was not only unprofessional but also harassing and entirely unethical.Earlier today, I contacted your customer service department to inquire about the status of an e-gift card promised to us from ******. However, instead of receiving the assistance I sought, I was unexpectedly transferred to your sales department. The individual I spoke with not only failed to address my query but also attempted to pressure me into renewing our policy.Despite clearly expressing our intention not to renew, the representative persisted in his sales pitch and, shockingly, informed me that he had already renewed our policy without my explicit consent. Furthermore, after ending the call, he began sending me disrespectful and snarky text messages, which only exacerbated the situation.Upon seeking clarification and assistance from a supervisor, I was informed that your company does not text customers. This revelation only added to my discomfort and unease, as it became apparent that the behavior I experienced was not only inappropriate but also potentially fraudulent.In a subsequent conversation with the supervisor, I was promised an investigation into the matter. However, instead of addressing the issue professionally, the representative in question called me back in a state of agitation, expressing displeasure at my intention to report him and abruptly ending the call.I must emphasize the severity of this situation and its impact on my trust and confidence in your company. As a loyal customer who has experienced numerous issues with your services, this incident is the final confirmation that we will not renew our policy with Choice Home Warranty.
