Port of Miami Parking

Now before I get yelled at for posting something that's already "talked about" in this forum let me just say after reading them, my questions are not answered. I'm looking for an alternative to parking at POM for my cruise. I've been searching for the past 3 days for public parking in the area with absolutely no luck. Can SOMEONE who's just recently come back from a cruise out of POM lend some guidance as to where to look for parking? We can't stay at a hotel as we have plans morning of the cruise and we're driving from Orlando. Any help would be awesome!

You can still park at some hotels without staying at them ..just pay the daily fee

It is not really worthwhile for a 7 day cruise by the time you factor in $50 for taxis to/from the port but if you are going longer than a week it may be worth checking

We parked at Embassy suites via airport parking reservations site for $7. p/d..took the shuttle to the port for $10 pp & got a taxi back for $25.

I think Wyndham near the airport also has parking

We used netParkFly.com- Total Auto Rent POM which is 15 minute ride to the port. It was the best way to do it. We parked on Monday 10/25/10 @ 11:00 and came home Fri 10/29/10 @ 10:00, Total cost was $53.

They drove us right up to the terminal entrance. When coming home we called as soon as we were getting off the ship and they were right there waiting for us. It was so much easier than having to find our way around the POM and driving out. I would recommend this. For a little extra cash, they will have your car washed and ready for you when you return.

It is valet parking, but you do not have to worry. Your care is safe. There were no extra miles added to our car, so we know our car sat in one spot until we go back.

We used netparkfly.com to reserve with Total Auto Rent in Miami. It's near the airport, which is about a 15-20 drive from the Port of Miami. The drop off went smooth, and transport to the port was fine. The problem occurred upon pickup. As per their instructions, we called for pickup once we were off the ship and ready to go. They said it would be about 20 minutes. Over the next hour and half, I called about 6 more times, and each time was told that there was a van in the port and it should only be a few more minutes. There were two other groups there with us, all waiting for pickup from Total. We saw one van go by completely empty, but it didn't stop. We saw three other vans go by, all completely full. After 1 1/2 hours, I gave up and took a taxi. By the way, taxi from the port to Miami Airport is $25 plus tip. By the time we left, we were the only people standing in front of the ship, except the porters who were waiting for the next batch of cruisers to arrive.

Must be hit or miss with Total Rental. We called them when we cleared customs at 8:15 and they told us 15 minutes till pick-up. More than 1 and 1/2 hours and 7 phone calls later we finally were picked up because I was "impatient". Bottom line DO NOT use Total Rental - especially if you are at terminal G which is the last pickup on their route regardless of what order you call them in. Spend the extra bucks and park at the port where you can walk to your car and be home before Total will pick you up.

I went through the same thing. POM parking is outrageous. I used United Airport Parking, they also go by CBM and Premier. I thought about it for a long time as I read alot of mixed reviews with nothing really current. We returned last week and they were fantastic. I paid $89.92 for a week, saved $50.00. They picked us up when we parked the car. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes for a van to the port as we had just missed one. When we returned we waited perhaps 5 minutes. Everyone was friendly and courteous. The only thing that was strange is that it wasn't well marked. Sign just says "Cruise Parking." Address is 1415 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami, 33132. Info they sent me said most GPS units cannot find it. Mine had no problem and I have nothing fancy, just your basic Tom Tom. Bottom line, I was concerned, but in the end very please that I saved $50.00 and I would not hesitate to use them again. Your car is in a secure, multi-level parking deck.

I am getting ready to head out on my cruise on Monday out of POM. I have found rates for Total Auto Rent for $43.00 but am concerned about the mixed reviews. Have any of you used Total Solutions (found on parkflyrideuse.com)? The rate with them would be $43.99 and they provide transportation as well.

I realize that this is probably too late for the poster, but I'll answer for anyone else that is looking for a review of Total Parking Solutions. I went out on a limb and used them despite the lack of online reviews.

Totally satisfied. The rate was very cheap, about $30 or $35 for seven days. They had my car checked in and at Miami International in... maybe 15 minutes? On my return they picked me up well within ten minutes from my phone call, and my car was just as I left it. I would use them again.

kilroy76 did Total Parking Solutions provide shuttle to and from the Port of Miami. I see you mentioned the airport but we are looking for cruise parking.

I see on some threads that there is a place a couple blocks away from port at $4.50 a day web site portofmiamicruiseparking dot com good luck and let us know how it is

Yes, that is true and have read posts from some very disappointed folks also who used that parking lot unfortunately. Great price and close but apparently no security.

In October we used premier parking ventures locted at 1221 NE 1st avenue and we were very happy with the price, the location and the service. There was a shuttle waiting to take us to the cruiseline when we got there and when we returned from our cruise the shuttle was right there to take us back to the car. The vans were old, but they ran and for a savings of $13 per night we were very happy.

Just back from a cruise that we parked at the $4.50 lot per day. http://portofmiamicruiseparking.com and we had an excellent experience with it. It was packed so obviously hundreds of people are parking there. We had NO problems at all with the lot and our car was fine upon our return. I will recommend this parking lot to all my friends and family.

Again, you state that there is no security but you have not used this lot. Yes, it is fenced in, yes, it is manned 24/7. It is as good of security that you will find anywhere else. Yes, it is $4.50 per day. And I have used this lot and approve of it!!

Does this place have a shuttle to the port? If not, what was your transportation?

I used United Air Port parking 2 years ago. More than likely would use them again.

They do not have a shuttle, we chose to walk it is just a short walk across the bridge (separate sidewalk) it only took us about 15 -18 minutes to walk the distance. But the majority of people are taking taxis they are very easy to get at the lot.

Just returned from our Millie cruise 12/03/11 from POM for 5 days and used Total Auto Rent Port Of Miami obtained through http://www.globalairportparking.com/.

Quoted Rate:

$37.45Tax/Airport Fees: $2.50Customer Service Fee: $3.00Total Parking Fees: $42.95You Paid: $42.95Pay at the Lot: $0.00

There is a discount code you can use DISCOUNT CODE: 89898 which takes a couple bucks off your total. The lot is fenced with security. They offer a free shuttle to the port with nice fairly new red vans that are easy to spot. Shuttles run 20-30 mins from 7am-9pm 365 days per year. Staff was friendly and helpful. You do have to leave your keys with staff is that is an issue. Our car was returned dent free and I would definately park there again!

  !!!!!!!!.....BEWARE PORT of MIAMI PARKING......!!!!

I booked thru their site for 7 nights the end of Nov and start of Dec, 2012. After passing a bunch of homeless looking men 'camped' on 1st ave before turning onto 7th st, I got a little worried. The opening in the fence which was the entrance was blocked by orange cones. No attendant in sight.... you give the site your arriving & departing info and TIME and are told to show your receipt to the attendant when you arrive.

I moved the cones and started to enter. There was NO ATTENANT. A hispanic man across the street came over... not much English. I tried to explain and showed him my receipt. He wanted me to come park at his lot (he was a parking attendent there, I guess) but I didn't want to pay twice. I think he was telling me go ahead in my lot find a place and gestured to leave receipt on the dash.

I tried calling the local # and the business's 800 #... all recordings, which after leaving a few messages like 'emergency' and waiting 1/2 hour, I just parked the car.

There is NO shuttle and no taxis. I stopped a small local bus asking about a shuttle and he gave me the number for the cab service.

Once on the ship, I tried the #'s again, more messages. They NEVER returned my call.

When I returned, I had to taxi back. The taxi line was long..about a 40 min wait. They cabbie was pissed that I was only going a couple of miles and I got charged double what I paid coming in.... that's another story.

At the lot, there was a different car backed in next to me... a new cheverolet convertible (camero?). The passenger windows, both front and rear, had be broken out. The glove box was opened and papers scattered on the floor. I wanted to alert someone but, again, NO ATTENDANT. I wonder if they left a GPS or something visible. I have a SUV but 'hid' everything under the seat. I was still lucky it wasn't me.

I doubt it was reported to the insurance company/police... probably costs less to repair than the deductible.... which is the reasoning I saw on another post.

I'm spreading the word of my experience. I'm mad that their site is very misleading, the info they provide you is a bunch of lies and that no one cared enough to ever return my calls. SO BEWARE.... your parking may not turn out to be as cheap as you thought!

Thank you for reporting what happened to you. I am sorry this happened. I have been warning everyone who thinks this lot is safe for their cars and others have as well and have provided pics but the price appears to pull them in.

Am I correct in beleiving United Airport Parking ie Premier Cruise Parking is not the same as Preimer Parking Ventures? Close names get confusing:confused:

Correct....Premier Cruise Parking goes by a few names, another of which is global airport parking. But both use the same garage.

I have not read good things about Premier Parking Ventures...
